Ngisikhuluma kancane siSwati… I only speak a little siSwati!
Yet, I am learning tons and tons everyday. I can not believe I have only been here for a little over 3 weeks. I have become more and more a part of the Swazi culture. My ladies who are in my daily bible study teach me siSwati for an hour everyday. It also helps me to be trusted and respected because I am trying to learn the language. A huge difference this week in the bible study was the word of God! Thank you to the family that provided the founding for the bibles. The ladies flipped out. One lady said when I asked if there was any questions “no, we understand because the Word is in siSwati.” That was really encouraging. The bible study is growing… soon maybe it will be its own church. We had 21 people on Friday. They are excited about their bibles and learning the word of God. Psalm 119 says what is going on in the hearts here in Africa-
Psalm 119:25-32
I am laid low in the dust;
preserve my life according to your word.
I recounted my ways and you answered me;
teach me your decrees.
Let me understand the teaching of your precepts;
then I will meditate on your wonders.
My soul is weary with sorrow;
strengthen me according to your word.
Keep me from deceitful ways;
be gracious to me through your law.
I have chosen the way of truth;
I have set my heart on your laws.
I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD;
do not let me be put to shame.
I run in the path of your commands,
for you have set my heart free.
We are studying the book of Galatians and learning about the Inkhulululeko (FREEDOM!) in Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow we are on Chapter 4 and talking about being children of God. I am excited about what GOD is doing.
Thank you so much for all your prayers and encouragement.
