Freedom and the Hard questions!

“So Christ has truly set us free.  Now make sure that you stay free and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.” Gal. 5:1

The bible study has more turned into a church.  So, we have church at noon Tuesday-Friday under the tree in front of the market.  I love watching as people just bring their stool/chair/water container ect.  to sit on and join in the singing.  We are going through the book of Galatians and it is cool to see how freedom is affecting their hearts.
I also spend 3-4 hours just hanging with the ladies each day.  Many times this is when the questioning happens.
I got many questions this week such as:
“Here in Swazi many men take many wives… are the second wives not respected by God?”
and you have to remember you are talking to women who are those women…
or then you have one who asked me…

“How do I tell my boyfriend that is my child’s father that I am born again and we can’t have sex anymore?”
How do you answer when you have no idea? How do you give an answer to someone who knows that very possibly the man may stop providing for the child if she doesn’t continue to sleep with him… she may get beat up or receive verbal abuse or comments like “How can you say that you are the mother of my child…” Most men here are basically or the thinking that they deserve sex from women.  These are just some of the hard to answer questions I was asked this week.  Do they teach you that at university? That is what they need to teach.  How to answer the tough… I mean life tough ?’s.   That is the hardest part of ministry.  Looking in the eyes of broken people and saying no, God doesn’t want this for you.  I hope that God continues to give me answers… because He knows I have no idea!
